Security Forces (SFs) launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in a village in Baramulla District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on October 4, reports Daily Excelsior. Official sources said, on a tip off about the presence of militants, troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) launched a CaSO in the wee hours at Nowpora village in the District, sealing all the exit points and house-to-house were searched. However, so far, no contact was established with the militants, they added.
Meanwhile, Police, SOG and Army recovered some arms and ammunition during a Cordon and Search Operation (CaSO) in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on October 4, reports Daily Excelsior. A joint CaSO was carried out by a SOG, Surankote Police and 16 Rashtriya Rifles at Gali Girjjan in Surankote, leading to the recovery of an assault rifle with three magazines and 150 rounds along with a Pakistan made pistol. However, no arrest has been made in connection with the recovery so far, the officials added.
