On June 3, official sources stated that as part of a joint strategy by the Army, Assam Rifles, Manipur Police and the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), a cache of ‘snatched’ arms and ammunition were recovered during its Area Domination Operations in violence-hit Manipur, reports East Mojo. The operations have so far resulted in recovery of 40 weapons (mostly automatic), mortars, ammunition and other warlike stores. The SFs recovered “snatched weapons” as part of its operations in restoring peace in the state.
On June 4, Security Adviser to Manipur Government, Kuldeep Singh stated that therewas no incident of violence in Manipur in the last 24 hours and the state was “completely peaceful” on June 3, reports East Mojo. Singh also stated that 35 more arms and ammunition have been surrendered, in addition to over 140 arms and ammunition surrendered on June 2, following an appeal by Union Home Minister (UHM) Amit Shah. A total of 88 bombs were also recovered in Manipur.
