A jawan (trooper) of the Special Task Force (STF) was killed when a pressure Improvised Explosive Device (IED), planted by the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), went off in Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh on February 7, reports The Telegraph. The incident occurred around 4.30pm near Peddagellur village when a joint team of Security Forces (SFs) was out on an anti-Maoist operation. Inspector General of Police (IGP), Bastar range, Sundarraj P. said, “When the patrolling team was on way back after the operation, constable Mohan Nag inadvertently stepped on the bomb, triggering the blast that left him critically injured,” he said. Later, constable Nag succumbed to his injuries.
