A suspected cadre of Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), identified as Guddu Singh, was arrested from Kosamba, around 48 kilometres from Surat city in Surat District of Gujarat on January 2, reports Times of India. Guddu Singh, who was living in Kosamba for the past 10 years, was wanted in Jharkhand for several offences. He was arrested in a joint operation by Jharkhand Police and local forces. Guddu was staying with his family and had changed his identity to avoid being arrested, said Police adding that he is wanted in six cases, including murder, kidnapping and attempt to murder, offences related to the Arms Act and the Explosive Substances Act, all dating back to 2011 and 2013.
