A group of Taliban militants put down their hand weapons and joined peace process in Nangarhar Province, bakhtarnews.com reports on June 20. The insurgents were involved in terrorist and destructive activities in various parts of Nangarhar. Mullah Safiullah a rebel who joined peace process said, that he will take part in reconstruction and ensuring security situation in the country.
According to another report, seven IS (Islamic State) militants were forced to surrender themselves to Afghan Security Forces in the province. Based on released figure, 550 IS militants have surrendered themselves to Afghan Security Forces with the last three months in Nangarhar Province, bakhtarnews.com reports on June 20.
