Ten cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), including four allegedly involved in the 2018 Nilawaya attack in which a Doordarshan cameraman lost his life, surrendered in Dantewada District of Chhattisgarh on November 3, reports The Pioneer. The cadres, who were active in the Malangir Area Committee of the CPI-Maoist, gave themselves up before Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officials, Dantewada, Superintendent of Police (SP), Abhishek Pallava said. The surrendered Maoists whose identities are yet to be ascertained, said they were impressed by the Police's surrender-cum-rehabilitation campaign 'Lon Varratu' (Homecoming) and disappointed with the Maoist ideology. Of the 10, five collectively carried a reward of `10 lakh on their heads, SP, Pallava said.
