A terrorist was, involved in killing of Bihar labourers,killed by the Security Forces (SFs) in Cherdari area of Baramulla District in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on October 28 (today), reports Daily Excelsior. According to the Police, the terrorist has been identified as Javed Ah Wani of Kulgam District. He assisted terrorist Gulzar, who was killed on October 20, in the killing of 2 labourers from Bihar in Wanpoh. He was on a mission to target one shopkeeper in Baramulla, stated the Police. One pistol, one loaded magazine and one Pakistan grenade was recovered from the possession of slain terrorist
Separately, SFs on October 28 (today) detained three more locals for allegedly sheltering the militants in Poonch District, reports Daily Excelsior. With the detention of the three persons including two brothers hailing from Bhatta Durrian area of Mendhar tehsil (revenue unit), a total of 20 locals, including some women, have been detained during the operation.
Meanwhile, National Investigation Agency (NIA) on October 27 conducted searches at 17 locations in seven Districts of J&K in the Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) terror funding case, reports Daily Excelsior. The NIA carried out these searches in the Anantnag, Kulgam, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Budgam, Kishtwar and Jammu Districts of J&K. The case was registered by NIA on February 5 in connection with separatist and secessionist activities of JeI, an unlawful association under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act even after its proscription on February 28, 2019. “The members of the organisation have been collecting funds domestically and abroad which are being used for violent and secessionist activities,” said the NIA.
