Three top cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), identified as Sarju alias Chhotu Bandu Mahaka, Madhu alias Anu Maharu Kumoti, and Ashok Lala Talandi, were arrested by the Police during a special operation in the Tadgaon Forest area under Bhamragad Taluka (administrative sub-division) in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra on September 11, reports saamtv.com. Sarju joined Gatta Dalam (armed squad) in the year 2010 and was involved in four encounters, like the Rengewahi encounter, the Nargunda encounter (2011), the Kunjemarka encounter, and the Mardhur encounter (2017), as well as two innocent people's killings at Ghotpadi and Pengunda. Madhu was recruited in Bhamragarh Dalam in 2015 and was involved in a total of three encounters, like the Muttemkuhi encounter, the Darba encounter (2017), the Kundum encounter (2016), and two innocent people's killings at Mauja Gongwada and Ghotpadi. Ashok was recruited as a member in Sandra Dalam, Chhattisgarh, in 2017, and since then, he has been working directly and indirectly in the Maoist movement at home and was also directly involved in the encounter at Kedmara. The Maharashtra government had announced a reward of INR 200,000 each for these three Maoists.
