Two cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) were killed in a gun battle with Security Forces (SFs) in Dantewada District of Chhattisgarh on March 20, reports The Pioneer. Dantewada Superintendent of Police (SP), Abhishek Pallava said, the fighting took place at a forest near Bade Gudra village under Kuakonda Police Station limits when the District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel were on an anti-Maoist drive. After the exchange of fire, the bodies of the two Maoists along with a 9 mm pistol, a country-made revolver and a five kilograms Improvised Explosive Device (IED) were recovered from the spot, the SP said. One of the slain Maoists was identified as Madvi Hadma, a ‘deputy commander’ of Maoists Katekalyan LGS (Local Guerrilla Squad), SP, Pallava said, adding that he carried a reward of INR 300,000 on his head, while, the other cadre was identified as Ayeta, a ‘Jan Militia commander’ in Etepal area who carried a reward of INR 100,000 on his head.
