On April 1, a Rohingya man, identified as Syed Alam (60), was shot dead during a clash between the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) and the Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO), at Camp 8 in Ukhiya Sub-District under Cox’s Bazar District, reports The Daily Star. He was a resident of Kutupalong Camp 8. Sheikh Mohammad Ali, officer-in-charge (OIC) of Ukhiya Police Station, confirmed the incident and said both groups traded bullets over establishing supremacy at the camp.
On April 2, a bullet-riddled body of a Rohingya man, identified as Syed Alam (40), who also had his throat slit, was found at Balukhali camp in Ukhiya Sub-District of Cox’s Bazar District, reports The Daily Star. He was a resident of Block E of Balukhali Camp 8. Sheikh Mohammad Ali, officer-in-charge (OIC) of Ukhiya Police Station, confirmed the incident and said he was abducted by some 10 gunmen from his house on April 1.
