On April 5, a suspected linkmanidentified as Suraj Gogoi of United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) succumbed to his injuries at the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh District of Assam, reports Northeast Now.
Earlier, the linkman, Suraj Gogoi was arrested on March 4 for links with ULFA-I. However, on the same day, he sustained bullet injuries on his left leg while trying flee from police custody at Sonari area of Charaideo District. He was immediately admitted to the AMCH for treatment.
In another incident, six militants belonging to National Liberation Front of Bodoland (NLFB) surrendered along with arms and ammunition in Sonitpur District of Assam on April 6, reports East Mojo. The surrendered militants revealed that a group of about 12 militants was hiding in Chariduar area along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border.
Earlier, two NLFB were injured in a gunfight with Assam Police on April 1 at 12 Mile area of Bhalukpong town of Sonitpur District, reports The Sentinel. The two injured militants identified as Gendra Basumatary and Khampandar Basumatary. Another militant identified as Erkadao Narzary was also arrested. Five mobile handsets and NLFB printed letterheads were recovered from their possession.
