In a statement released on February 8, the University of Afghanistan announced it has ceased operations due to economic problems and a lack of students, reports Hasht-e Subh. “We would like to point out that due to the many economic problems caused by the dropout of students and the prohibition of girls’ education, the founding board of the University of Afghanistan has decided to sell or, if not, to suspend the university,” stated the announcement of this educational institution. “Consequently, the university will cease operations at the beginning of the next academic year.”
