A woman cadre of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), Kuluma Devi alias Sandhya, surrendered before Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Rajesh Chandra, at Bhadrachalam in Bhadradri Kothagudem District of Telangana on October 22, reports Telangana Today. Sandhya had joined the CPI-Maoist in 2014 under the leadership of Kistaram Area Committee ‘commander’ Madakam Prakash. She served as the guard to Sharadakka of Cherla Local Organisation Squad (LOS) from 2016 to 2017. She also worked as Shabari LOS ‘deputy commander’ in between 2017 and 2019 and as in-charge ‘commander’ of the same LOS between 2019-20, ASP Rajesh Chandra said. Kuluma Devi had lost interest in Naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE] ideology and decided to surrender before the Police to live a normal life.
