The CID (Crime Investigation Department) sleuths believe that the IS had been using youth like Musa to open a “sleeper cell” in Bengal. Musa was entrusted with the responsibility to indoctrinate youths. He has already sent some five to six youths for jihadi training in Bangladesh. The plan was to sent around 10 youth for IS training in Syria. While Suleiman was in contact with him regarding the training aspect, it was Yousuf who was providing him the logistic support.“He was tasked with beheading three members of a family in Labhpur, Birbhum to prove his mettle to the IS before he could be given bigger assignments. We have every reasons to believe that he was on a mission to Birbhum. The sharp knife that was recovered from him is similar to those that were used for some recent killings in Bangladesh,” a CID source said.Investigation revealed Musa had made three phone calls while travelling to Labhpur from Howrah station on Monday evening. The calls were made to his father, mother and the third one was meant for Saddam Hossain alias Kalo. Kalo and Sheikh Abbasuddin, alias Amin, were hired by Musa to assist him in the assignment. Saddam was told to come to Labhpur Police Station along with Amin. Both of them were arrested by the CID on July 6, and were produced at Howrah court on July 7 and were remanded to 14 days Police custody. “Musa also had a meeting with Suleman in the port area before travelling to Birbhum where he was instructed on carrying out the operation,” the source said. The sleuths, who had sent his mobile phone for forensic examination, is yet to retrieve the app in his phone with which he kept contact with his associates. Read less...
