Naval coastal guards upon observation of nearly 400 Indian fishing vessels poaching in the seas despite repeated warnings closed in on those fishing vessels in order to drive them away from Sri Lankan waters but at least 4-5 Sea Tiger (sea wing of the LTTE) boats who have infiltrated the flotilla posing off as Indian fishermen have opened fire on the coast guard vessel, sources said. "We suspect Tigers had taken the cover of Indian fishermen to attack the naval craft," an unnamed official said, according to Yahoo.
