The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva-Chatra Parishad (AJYCP), a youth and student body, has announced a series of agitations starting from November 3, 2018 demanding for the introduction of Inner-Line Permit (ILP) in Assam, reports The Sentinel. Talking to this reporter, AJYCP ‘general secretary’ Palash Changmai said: “In post-independence immigration into Assam from other countries and States of India has been going on. So widespread is the immigration that it has brought a demographic change in the State, leading the indigenous people of the State being a minority in its own State. The local people in Assam are losing their rights over land because of such an unabated immigration.
