A study, `Humanity at Risk - Global Terror Threat Indicant(GTTI), by Oxford University and Strategic Foresight Group (SFG) on October 27 revealed that It's not Syria, but Pakistan which poses the maximum terrorrisk to humanity, reports Times of India. The analysis states Pakistan is right on top of the list of countries with thehighest number of terrorist bases and safe havens. The study also reveals that terror outfits Afghan Taliban and the Lashkar-e-Taiba(LeT), which have a significant presence in Pakistan, pose thehighest risk to international security.Pakistan thus remains the breeding ground and supporter of global terrorism and is responsible for three times the terror riskto humanity in comparison with Syria, according to the GTTI report.“If we look at the most dangerous terrorist groups, based on hard facts and statistics, we find that Pakistan hosts or aidsmajority of them. Also, there are a significant number of groups based in Afghanistan, which operate with the support ofPakistan,” the report says.“The rise of competitive extremism of all shades, misuse of weapons of mass destruction and economic disruptions canundermine human progress or even survival in the period from now until 2030. They are all interlinked with terrorism”, thestates.
