In addition, two cadres belonging to Military Council faction of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) were arrested by the Imphal West District Police from near Hotel Nirmala, according to Sangai Express. Two of the four militants were subsequently captured by the local people. Surchandra was the nephew of Y. Kuladhaja (52), working as deputy range officer of Forest Department at Jiribam. The militants carried out the gun attack after threatening the forest officer at his residence. Two captured militants along with a hand-gun were subsequently handed over to Wangoi Police.

A team of Imphal West District Police arrested the three cadres of Khaba faction of KCP who were involved in the threatening the family members of Mayengbam Shyam (58) an Under Secretary of the Manipur Legislative Assembly secretariat on October 19 by showing hand grenade in connection with the monetary demands. The arrested cadres were identified to be Moirangthem Kenedy (27), Oinam Naobi (24) and Ninthoujam Deben (19). One Chinese hand grenade, two bikes were seized from them by the Police. However, no one was injured in the incident. Out of two hand grenades hurled at the residence of Kesho, one exploded at the roof of the house causing some damages to the upper portion of the house. The other grenade which landed in front of the verandah did not explode. This attack was the fifth in a series of similar attacks at the residence of Kesho in 2010.

The security agencies have come across a joint declaration where the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) and the Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF), the political wing of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), of Manipur agreed to "honour and support the sovereignty of India and Manipur", reports Assam Tribune. The joint declaration, signed by ‘secretary general’ of the RPF, S Gunen and Alok, a leader of the CPI-Maoist, said that both sides would extend moral and political support to each other in their liberation struggles to "overthrow the common enemy that is Indian reactionary and oppressive regime." Both sides also agreed to honour the territorial integrity of Manipur and India. The organizations strongly criticized the Government of India and agreed to consolidate friendship and work hand in hand. The Maoists condemned the annexation of Manipur in India and claimed that the merger of Manipur with India was illegal and the people of Manipur have been opposing the same.

A combined team of Imphal West District Police and 39 Assam Rifles (AR) troops arrested a Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) militant, identified as Tongjam Arjun Singh alias Neon (25), from Thangmeiband Lilashing Khongnang-khong. Separately, Security Forces (SFs) arrested ‘lieutenant’ Thoudam Bobby Singh alias Laisana alias Ibomcha (33) in the same District. One 9 mm pistol and some ammunition were seized from him. In another joint search operation, SFs arrested one United National Liberation Front (UNLF) cadre, identified as ‘lance corporal’ Sana Takhellambam (30) from Saiton Khunou. He confessed to have been involved in a number of incidents of attacks on SFs and undergone training in 2001. Also Police arrested one cadre of Military Council faction of KCP-MC, identified as Lairenlakpam Abom (19) from Lamphel Sana Keithel. Two Chinese hand grenades were recovered from the house of the militant.
