The slain cadre hailing from Kiorbila village in the Alamdanga sub-district of Chuadanga district was earlier arrested near a madrassa (seminary) in Rishkhali village. An extremist belonging to the New Biplobi Communist Party (NBCP) was killed in an encounter with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel at Ratulpara village in the Kushtia district on December 10, reports Daily Star. The slain extremist, Kata alias Rajbabbar, had been arrested from his house in the same village on December 9. A firearm and 15 bullets were recovered from the encounter site. Police sources said that the slain extremist was a close associate of the NBCP leader Akdil Hossain and was accused in different cases, including four for murders.

A bomb expert, Mansur, was killed when two bombs he was making along with his accomplices exploded at a bush in the Bamanagar village under Alamdanga subdistrict of Chuadanga district on December 20-evening, according to Daily Star. Police subsequently arrested from the incident site Ikhtiar Ali, a cadre of Red Flag faction of the Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP), who was injured in the explosion. During interrogation, Ikhtiar confessed that Mansur, an expert in making bomb, often supplied them bombs. Police also recovered seven bombs from the incident site.
