According to Daily Star, two persons including an elderly woman were killed and four others injured when suspected cadres of the Janajuddha faction of Purba Banglar Communist Party (PBCP) lobbed bombs into a small gathering at Paka village of Jibannagar in the Chuadanga district on April 13. Police sources said that a group of ten PBCP extremists led by Badal Roy hurled five home-made bombs into the gathering at a shop. While two persons died on their way to the hospital, four others have been admitted in critical condition. Later, Badal Roy claimed the responsibility for the attack and said that their target was a local Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader, Nasima Begum.

A bomb expert, Mansur, was killed when two bombs he was making along with his accomplices exploded at a bush in the Bamanagar village under Alamdanga subdistrict of Chuadanga district on December 20-evening, according to Daily Star. Police subsequently arrested from the incident site Ikhtiar Ali, a cadre of Red Flag faction of the Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP), who was injured in the explosion. During interrogation, Ikhtiar confessed that Mansur, an expert in making bomb, often supplied them bombs. Police also recovered seven bombs from the incident site.

According to Daily Star, Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) bomb expert, Shakil alias Mollah Omar, was killed during an encounter with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel. His wife and two children were also killed in bomb explosions meant to resist the raid on their hideout at Kaliajuri in Comilla town on March 13. JMB chief Abdur Rahman's son Nabil Rahman and JMB cadre Alamgir alias Bijoy alias Shaikat were arrested from the incident site. According to official sources, the raid was primarily conducted in search of JMB Majlis-e-Shura (the highest decision-making body) member Khaled Saifullah. A huge stockpile of explosives was recovered from the site.
