Nepal News reports that the kin of a Member of Parliament (interim parliament) from the CPN-Maoist, Binod Kumar Upadhyaya, was killed in a bomb blast carried out by unidentified persons in the Bodhbar Village Development Committee-3 area of the Rupandehi district on April 29. Binod's uncle Surendra Uyadhyaya was killed in the blast that occurred inside Binod's house. The Himalayan Times reported that the regional coordinator of the Akhil Tarai Mukti Morcha, Rakesh, and Anil of the Madhesi Tigers said their outfits had triggered the blast. They also claimed the explosion was triggered to punish the Member of Parliament for contesting the Constituent Assembly polls.

An unidentified group detonated four bombs simultaneously in various parts of Kathmandu Valley on April 4-evening, Kantipuronline reports. However, no loss of life or damage to property was reported. Two bombs exploded at the Local Development Ministry and Sajha Bus Service compound at Pulchowk and two others went off in front of the Maoist Nepal Newa Khala Office at Tripureshwor and at Maitighar Mandala within an interval of five minutes starting 7:35 pm. Preliminary police investigations have revealed that all the bombs were of a similar nature, with explosive substance and metal splinters. "This is an organized group. We strongly suspect that time devices were used in the bombs," said an unnamed police officer. No one has so far claimed responsibility for the blasts.

Two Rajbiraj-based Government offices were damaged in twin blasts in the Saptari district on August 10, reports The Himalayan Times. In the first incident, activists of the Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha-Ranbir Singh (JTMM-R) detonated a ‘pressure cooker bomb’ at 7:40 pm (NST) in the Saptari District Development Committee (DDC) office, which lies close to the Saptari District Police Office, causing damage to four rooms, computers and furniture. An army man, Lance Corporal Shree Prasad Sarbuja, was injured and a windowpane was destroyed in the blast. Some motorcycle borne assailants are reported to have hurled the bomb at the residence, Sub-Inspector Prem Prasad Pokhrel said. No one has so far claimed the responsibility for the blast. The Vice President was at home when the blast occurred, the report added. However, chief of Kathmandu district Police, Sarbendra Khanal, claimed that the VP was not at home when the explosion occurred, Nepal News reported.

Kantipuronline reports that a powerful bomb exploded at the office of Construction Entrepreneurs Association in Rajbiraj of Saptari district on October 24. While no human casualty was reported, four rooms of the two-storey building were damaged in the explosion. Meanwhile, Saptari district coordinator of the Ranbir faction of the Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM-Ranbir), Kishan, claimed the responsibility for the explosion. Talking to Kantipuronline over telephone, Kishan said that the action was taken symbolically after announcement of an alliance of seven Terai outfits waging armed movement in the southern plains of Terai. The alliance has been named as Madhesh Rastra Janatantrik Krantikari Morcha.
