The suspect, who was holed up in a house in the Gar area of Swabi District, was among the gunmen who killed the seven workers, Swabi District Police Officer Abdur Rashid Khan was quoted as saying. His companion, a suspected accomplice, escaped, officials said. Khan said that a motorcycle and a pistol that was used in the killing had been recovered from the suspected terrorists.

An explosive device went off near the hujra (guest house) of an official of a non-governmental organisation (NGO) in Arakh area of Razar tehsil (revenue unit) in Swabi District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on January 6, reports The News. The sources said that unidentified persons had planted two bombs near the main gate of the hujra of Fazal Muhammad in Arakh area and triggered the explosion. The blast damaged the main gate and boundary walls of the structure but didn’t cause any casualty. The sources added the personnel of the bomb disposal unit (BDU) recovered a second bomb and defused it.

According to details, on a tip off about smuggling of explosive devices from tribal areas to Peshawar for subversive activities, the Badabar Police Station made blockade at Sefan security check post and spotted a suspected flying coach. Security Forces (SFs) killed two would-be suicide bombers as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants attacked the office of District Police Officer (DPO), judicial lock ups and lower courts in Kohat town (Kohat District) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on September 9, reports Daily Times. A Policeman was also killed while 13 other persons, including three security officials, were injured in the attack inside the military cantonment area. According to the Kohat DPO office, eight to 10 militants attacked District Courts using hand grenades and heavy weapons. Police arrested the group responsible for the Qissa Khwani bomb blast, with clues that they have links to foreign intelligence agencies, reports The Express Tribune. Addressing a press conference at Malik Saad Police Lines on October 29, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Najeebur Rehman said they arrested four people in a raid on a house in Sara Dargai, Mattani and recovered 840 kilogrammes of high-quality explosives. The men arrested include Niazbeen, Shiraz, Haji Habib and Asif, all of whom hail from Kurram Agency of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) but have been residing in Mattani, on the outskirts of Peshawar, for the past couple of years. He said that upon interrogation it was discovered the group was directly responsible for the bomb blast in the Qissa Khwani market on September 29. One of the gang members, Suliman, had also been killed in the blast as he was too close to the device when he detonated it via remote control.
