At least 10 persons were killed and eight others injured when a landmine explosion struck a van in the Godar area of Kurram District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on June 29, reports ARY News. The deceased also included two children and a woman. The explosion ripped through the heavily loaded pickup truck driving from Godar to Sadda. No group immediately took responsibility for the bomb.
Separately, two Army soldiers were killed when militants from across the border, inside Afghanistan, attacked an Army post in Dwatoi area of North Waziristan District in KP on June 30, reports Geo TV. “Own troops responded in a befitting manner. During an exchange of fire, 2 soldiers, Havaldar Saleem, age 43 years, and Lance Naik Pervaiz, age 35 years, embraced shahadat,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
