The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on April 21, seized 303 kg of banned drug cocaine worth over INR 2,000 crore from a container at Tuticorin port of Thoothukudi District in Tamil Nadu, reports Daily Pioneer. The consignment was declared to be carrying wooden logs but the contraband was also concealed in it. The container had originated in Panama and transited through Antwerp (Belgium) and Colombo (Sri Lanka). "Based on specific intelligence that Cocaine will be concealed in a consignment imported in container reaching V O C Port, Tuticorin, the officers of DRI have intercepted the container declared to be containing wooden logs," the DRI said in a statement.
