On March 14, Rahul Sharma, the abducted supervisor of a road construction company was released near Gandhigram, close to border pillar 179 along the Indo-Myanmar border in Changlang District of Arunachal Pradesh, reports East Mojo. Earlier, South Asia Terrorism Portal (SATP) reported that on February 16, unidentified militants abducted a supervisor Rahul Sharma a road construction company, from near 53 mile, on Miao-Vijaynagar Road in Changlang District. Though query around which militant group abducted Sharma, where he was taken and kept for almost a month and how much ransom was paid to secure his release are yet to be revealed, intelligence sources believe that the victim was taken to the other side of the porous international border in Burma and was released at Gandhigram only after the extortion amount was paid.
