On March 21,United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) said that Afghanistan’s girls need to be in school, reports Forbes. "It's deeply disappointing to learn that, once again, the de facto authorities in Afghanistan have stopped girls from attending secondary school," said United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Executive Director Catherine Russell, reports Forbes. She further said, "This unjustified and shortsighted decision has crushed the hopes and dreams of more than one million girls and marks another grim milestone in the steady erosion of girls’ and women’s rights nationwide," and "UNICEF stands with every girl and woman in Afghanistan and calls on the de facto authorities to allow all girls to return to school with immediate effect. Girls must be allowed to continue their education, protect their mental health, and contribute to the future of their country," she added.
On March 22, President of the United States (US), Joe Biden, stated in the White House that we stand with women facing violence in Iran and Afghanistan, " reports The Khaama Press News Agency. "We stand with women facing violence in Iran and Afghanistan... The budget I laid out two weeks ago includes more than 3 billion dollars, a record amount, to advance general quality globally, not just at home," he said.
