On July 7, National Investigative Agency (NIA) describing the killing of Amravati chemist Umesh Kolhe as an act of terror, sought custody of the seven accused arrested, reports The Times of India. A chemist, Umesh Prahladrao Kolhe was stabbed to death in Amravati of Maharashtra on June 21 over a social media post in support of suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. NIA informed the Special Court that there was ‘incremental substance’ against the accused to show they were involved in terrorist activities. Following this, Special judge A K Lahoti remanded all the accused to NIA custody till July 15.
