The Border Security Force (BSF) personnel on August 16, recoveredtwo packets of contraband suspected to be heroin and a pistol from river Ravi in Ferozepur Sector along International Border (IB) in Ferozepur District of Punjab, reports United News of India. A spokesperson of the Punjab Frontier's Headquarter of the BSF said that the smugglers in Pakistan were attempting to smuggle the packets of the contraband and the weapon with a magazine through the waters of the river Ravi. The alert BSF troops immediately informed its boat team to fish out the substance floating in the waters of the river Ravi. The troops recovered two packets of heroin weighing one kilogram each and a China made .30 pistol and a magazine, he said.
