On June 20, China blocked a proposal by United States (US) and India to designate Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorist Sajid Mir,wanted for his involvement in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks as a global terrorist by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), reports Kashmir News Observer. The proposal was basically aimed to blacklistMir under the UNSC’s Al Qaeda Sanctions Committee. Mirhandles the foreign affairs of LeT’s international wing and is one of India’s most wanted terrorists and has a bounty of USD 5 million placed on his head by the US for his role in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.In August 2012, the US Department of the Treasury designated Mir as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist.Mir is also involved in several terror attacks in the US, France, Australia and Denmark.
