On March 7, Anwarul Islam, a Bangladeshi civilian, succumbed to his injuries during a firing incident perpetrated by Rohingya armed criminals who infiltrated the country from Myanmar through the Ukhiya border in Cox's Bazar District of Chittagong Division on February 6, reports The Daily Star. Gafur Uddin Chowdhury, the chairman of Palongkhali Union Parishad, stated that 23 armed Rohingyas with firearms had infiltrated into Bangladesh alongside 149 members of the Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) through the Rahamater Beel in Ukhiya. Residents stopped armed Rohingya criminals, who then opened fire, injuring five Bangladeshis, including Anwarul, he added.
