Speaker of the dissolved House of Representatives (HoR), Agni Prasad Sapkota on December 31 said that the Constitution of Nepal does not allow Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli to dissolve Parliament, reports Republica. Sapkota maintained “The current constitution does not give the authority to the Prime Minister to dissolve parliament in circumstances like this one. I am going to give this opinion to the supreme court as well.” Speaker Sapkota also said that he is holding wider consultation with all stakeholders concerned to see how he as the speaker of the now dissolved parliament can play his role to safeguard the constitution and work in the interests of the country and its people.
