Two more militants were killed in the encounter with Security Forces (SFs) in Parimpora area in Srinagar District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in India on December 30, reports The Times of India. Police said militants had opened fire on SFs during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the area on December 29 evening. Police official said, the cordon was strengthened and the two sides exchanged fire intermittently throughout the night, while one terrorist was killed early morning, two others were shot dead a few hours later. Official sources identified the slain trio as Aijaz Ahmad Ganie and Ather Mushtaq from Pulwama, and Zubair Ahmad Lone from Shopian. Earlier, SATP had reported one militant has been killed in an ongoing overnight encounter in Hokarsar area in Srinagar on December 30.
Militants shot dead a 65-year-old jeweller in Sarai Bala area in Srinagar District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in India on December 31, reports Daily Excelsior. The goldsmith identified as Satpal Nischal, son of Amarnath Nischal, owner of Nischal Jewellers, living in Indira Nagar area of Srinagar was fired upon by the militants at his shop, leaving him in a pool of blood and later declared dead. A militant organisation The Resistance Force (TRF) aka JK Fighters, has issued statement on social networking site claiming the killing of the jeweller. “Domicile certificate is unacceptable and they shall be treated as occupiers”, it said. On TRF claim, the Police official said that they are looking into it as well.
A Sub-Inspector (SI) of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was injured in a UBGL grenade attack followed by firing on naka (Police check post) party of CRPF in Sangam area in Anantnag District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in India on December 31, reports Daily Excelsior. Militants lobbed a grenade at a joint naka party of CRPF’s 90 Battalion followed by firing, which was retaliated by Security Forces (SFs) as well.
