The Enforcement Directorate (ED) moved court on December 4, to get three family members of Dawood Ibrahim’s aide Iqbal Mirchi declared as Fugitive Economic Offenders (FEO) which will eventually result in confiscation of their assets, reports newsroompost.com. The investigative agency said that an application has been filed under Fugitive Economic Offenders Act before the court “with a prayer to declare Junaid Iqbal Memon, Asif Iqbal Memon (sons of Mirchi) and Hajra Memon (wife) as fugitive economic offenders”. The FEO Act prescribes confiscation of property of fugitive economic offender, if a warrant has been issued against him for an offence involving an amount of Rs 100 crore or more and he has left the country and refuses to return. ED attaches assets worth INR 5.1 crore in bank fraud case.
