On April 6, eight people were killed during a gunfight between the United People's Democratic Front (Democratic) and Kuki-Chin National Army, the military unit of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF), inKhamtang Para of Rowangchhari Sub-District in Bandarban District, reports The Daily Star. Abdul Mannan, officer-in-charge (OIC) of Rowangchhari Police Station, said both groups had been exchanging bullets for the last two days over establishing supremacy in the hills of Khamtang Para and nearby areas. Police recovered the eight bullet-riddled bodies near the Ruma-Rowangchhari link road around 12:30 p.m., he added.
