On April 5, Security Forces (SFs) arrested a Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadre, identified as Nand Kishore Yadav, who suffered gunshot injury during an encounter at Chatra District of Jharkhand on April 3, and managed to flee, reports ANI. "In continuation to encounter of 3 April 2023 wherein 5 Maoists were neutralised by troops of 203 CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action), 134 Bn and Jharkhand Police at Chatra, security forces have today [April 5] arrested a Maoist named Nand Kishore Yadav who suffered gunshot injury during the encounter. One INSAS (Indian Small Arms System) assault rifle along with 15 rounds were also recovered from his possession," said the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in a statement. Earlier, South Asia Terrorism Portal (SATP) had reported the encounter incident on April 3, 2023, in which five Maoists, including two Bihar-Jharkhand special area committee (BJSAC) members carrying a reward of INR 2.5 million each, were killed in an intelligence-based operation in Grahe Forest area under the Lawalong Police Station limits in Chatra District.
