The Army on August 11 (today) foiled a suicide attack on an Army base in Pargal located in Darhal area of Rajouri District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in which both the terrorists were killed while three Army troops lost their lives, reports Daily Excelsior. One officer and two jawans are also injured in the attack. The suicide attack on the company operating base of a Rashtriya Rifles unit in Pargal, looks like an attempt to carry out an Uri-like attack where terrorists had infiltrated in the Army camp and killed 19 soldiers.
Earlier on August 10, three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were killed in an encounter with Security Forces (SFs) at Waterhail in the Khansahib area of Budgam District, reports Daily Excelsior. The SFs had launched a cordon-and-search operation at Waterhail following inputs about the presence of terrorists there. The search turned into an encounter after the terrorists opened fire. “All the three hiding LeT terrorists neutralised. Bodies being retrieved from the site, identification yet to be ascertained. Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition recovered. A big success for us,” Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Kashmir, Vijay Kumar tweeted. “Three terrorists of terror outfit LeT (TRF) including terrorist Lateef Rather trapped in ongoing encounter. Terrorist Lateef is involved in several civilian killings including Rahul Bhat & Amreen Bhat,” he had tweeted.
