Former Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) identified as Chhatradhar Mahato, the face of the CPI-Maoist backed tribal movement of 2008-11 in Lalgarh and presently a Trinamool Congress functionary moved the National Investigation Agency (NIA) court on June 4 seeking house arrest, citing the Covid-19 situation and his failing health, reports Times of India on June 6. The former CPI-Maoist leader arrested in the 2009 Rajdhani Express hijack case has moved the NIA (NIA) court through a lawyer. On October 27, 2009, the Rajdhani Express was stopped at Banstala station in Jhargram District of West Bengal, adds Sangbad Pratidin.
