Police arrested four militia members of Pedabayalu Area Committee of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) and seized one steel carriage, five kilograms explosive material, electrical detonator and wire bundle from their possession in Visakhapatnam District of Andhra Pradesh on June 25, reports The Hindu. Officer on Special Duty (OSD) anti-Naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE] operations, B. Krishna Rao, said, four militia members of Pedabayalu Area Committee were arrested by the Police and sent them to remand. The arrested four were identified as E Chittbabu (25) Gunjuwada village, P Kotibabu (28) Injari village, Golluri Modeswara Rao (25) and Vantala Kameswra Rao of Gunnalova village in Injari Panchayat (village level local self-Government institution) in Pedabayalu Mandal (administrative sub-division).
Meanwhile, six, including a ‘squad member’, surrender before the OSD, anti-Naxal operations, B. Krishna Rao, in Visakhapatnam District of Andhra Pradesh on June 25, reports The Hindu. The surrendered Maoists are Korukonda Area Committee squad member who were identified as Korra Krishna alias Praveen (22) of Chintaguppa village in Killamkota Panchayat of G. Madugula Mandal, Golluri Tambru alias Mallanna (30), Pangi Nageswara Rao alias Ranga Rao (19), Boudu Venkatesh alias Chantibabu (27) of Jamadhangi village of Injari Panchayat in Pedabayalu Mandal, Pangi Arjun alias Gopala Rao (25) of Unukuru in Kodimamidi Panchayat of G Madugula Mandal and Sirimi Balanna (35) of Kotturu in Rollagedda Panchayat of Odisha State. According to OSD B Krishna Rao, Maoists leaders forcibly inducted them into their party. After Police had a word with village heads, they came forward and surrendered due to the fear of arrests.
