On April 11, Union Ministry of Home Affairs (UMHA) declared Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar’s brother, Mohiuddin Aurangzeb Alamgir alias Ammar Alvi as a ‘terrorist’ under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), reports The India Express. In a gazette notification, UMHA stated that Ammar Alvi, a senior leader of JeM, ‘has been involved in Pulwama Central Reserve Police Force Convoy attack of 2019 and in anti-India terror activities on behalf of JeM. Alvi who looks after JeM’s fund collection by Pakistani nationals and routing the said fund to Kashmir in India has been involved in facilitating infiltration of Afghan cadres and coordinating terror attacks on Indian security forces in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, on April 8, UMHA had declared LeT chief Hafiz Saeed’s son Talha Saeed as a terrorist under the UAPA.
