Tribals from villages in the Mandals (administrative sub division) of Chintapalli, Koyyuru and Gudem Kotha (GK) Veedhi in Alluri Sitharama Raju District of Andhra Pradesh on April 11 organised a protest against the killing of Korra Lakshmana Rao (30), allegedly by the cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), reports The Hindu. Lakshmana Rao was allegedly killed by Maoists after branding him as a ‘Police informer’ in the Bongajangi village under Pedabayalu Mandal in Alluri Sitharama Raju District on April 6. South Asia Terrorism Portal (SATP) had reported the incident on April 8. The tribals burnt effigies and took out rallies in all the three Mandals.
