The Police recovered a huge cache of explosives and other materials allegedly buried by Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) in a forest area under Kotgul Police Help Center in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra on August 4, reports The Times of India. Based on an intelligence input, that Maoists belonging to the Korchi Local Organisation Squad (LOS), Tipagad LOS and ‘company no. 4’ had buried ammunition, explosives and other items in Hetalkasa Forest in Kurkheda sub-division, a team comprising special operation squads Commando-60 (C-60), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 192 battalion and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) personnel conducted an operation and recovered the explosives, an official said. The Police have recovered two cookers (one filled with explosives), four car remotes, three wire bundles, eight packets of distemper colour, one kilogram of yellow powder, two kilograms of grey powder, white powder, some granular substance, two notebooks, a water can, which were concealed in a plastic drum and buried, the official added.
