Security Forces (SFs) recovered INR one million in cash extorted from the public and hidden by the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) in a hilly pocket of a dense forest along the Jimki Ikra-Rajbasa Road under the Tonto Police Station area in West Singhbhum District of Jharkhand on March 23, reports The Times of India. West Singhbhum Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashutosh Shekhar said that on March 22, two brothers, Rajesh Devgam and Jaipal Devgam, both Maoist aides, were arrested by the SFs from Sarjomburu under the Tonto Police Station area. During interrogation, the two men told Police that former senior members of the banned outfit had concealed the money collected through extortion in the remote forest hilltop, leading to a search operation.
