Upendra Yadav and Baburam Bhattarai faction of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) on June 17, expelled nine leaders of the Mahantha Thakur-Rajendra Mahato faction of the party participating in the KP Sharma Oli-led Government from the party, reports Khabarhub. According to Upendra Yadav’s press coordinator Mahesh Chaurasiya, a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Upendra-Baburam faction expelled the leaders, including Rajendra Mahato, from the party. The meeting has also decided to protest the June 14 decision of the Election Commission (EC) and agreed to file an application with the EC to claiming the party’s authenticity pursuant to Articles 43 and 44 of the Political Parties Act.
