Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) has urged the Nagas to come forward to support the Karbi Peace Accord for the peaceful co-existence of all indigenous tribes living in Assam, reports Nagaland Express on June 11. In a press release, KSA President, Thangsing Timung said the claim of National Socialist Council of Nagaland - Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) that Karbi Anglong is Rengma Hills is a ‘misconception and misinterpretation of Indian History’. He further stated that historically, both the Karbi and Rengma community share a strong brotherhood as number of elected and nominated representatives visible in Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council are from the Rengma community.
