Police arrested a Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) ‘area committee member’, identified as Galikonda Gemmili Kamesh (31) alias Hari alias Malathi from Gudem Kotha Veedhi Police Station limits in Visakhapatnam District of Andhra Pradesh on September 30, reports The Hans India. The Deputy Inspector General (DIG), LKV Ranga Rao said that Kamesh had served in various cadres including guard for CPI-Maoist leaders and ‘coffee board member’ in the CPI-Maoist for the last 14 years. He was involved in over 100 cases in East Godavari and Visakhapatnam Districts and in the neighbouring State of Odisha. He also carried a cash reward of INR 400,000 on his head. A 303 rifle, a loaded magazine, gelatin (50-kg) three carriage mines, 150 grams of cordex, camera, radio and communication man pack were recovered from his possession.
