One Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadre was killed in an encounter between Maoists and Security Forces (SFs) in the forest near Chilparas village under the Koyalibeda Police Station area in Kanker District of Chhattisgarh on March 16, where a joint team of security personnel was out on an anti-Naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE] operation, reports latestly.com. Kanker Superintendent of Police (SP) Indira Kalyan Elesela said, the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Border Security Force (BSF) were involved in the operation. After the guns fell silent, the body of a Maoist, along with a weapon and explosive materials, were recovered from the spot, Elesela said, adding that the identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
The Police have established the identity of two Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres killed in an encounter with the Police in a forest near Hingmeta village under Bedre Police Station limits in Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh on March 15, as Suresh Muhanda (30) and Sannu Muhanda (20), reports latestly.com on March 16. Both Suresh and Sannu were residents of Hingmeta village where the gunfight occurred. Suresh worked with the Indravati area committee of Maoists for 10 years and was active as a ‘militia’ (people’s army of the Maoists) ‘commander’, while Sannu had joined the outlawed outfit five years ago and was a ‘militia member’, a Police official said.
