The Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) ‘Central Committee’ (CC) has appealed to the people to observe ‘Anti-Imperialist Week’ from March 23 to 29 across the country, reports Telangana Today on March 10. In a statement in Bhadradri Kothagudem of Telangana on march 10 the CC ‘spokesperson’ Abhay said the Anti-Imperialist Day would be celebrated on March 23 marking the 90th death anniversary of freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru. Russian imperialism led to its aggression on Ukraine which was the result of the imperialist contention between US-EU and Russia. The people of Ukraine were giving stiff resistance with the spirit of anti-imperialism to this aggression. Imperialist forces put the burden on the backward countries, working class and middle classes of the capitalist countries. Imperialists thought it necessary to deploy para-military forces to suppress the rising struggles against imperialist exploitation. In India Brahmanic Hindutva fascist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was instigating fake nationalism and implementing exploitive policies more aggressively since it came to power. The country’s economy was totally surrendered to the imperialists. The result was demonetisation, Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime, black agrarian laws, making Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)s to plunder country’s natural resources, anti-worker laws, suppression of revolutionary movement through SAMADHAN-Prahar offensive and splitting the country on the basis of religion, Abhay said. On the other hand, the Central government was privatising insurance, banking and railways to benefit capitalists. All the Maoist parties, oppressed classes, sections and professionals, the national bourgeoisie have to celebrate the anti-imperialist week, he added.
