Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres attacked a youth in the newly formed Mohala Manpur District of Chhattisgarh on August 16 evening, reports hindi.oneindia.com. According to Police, Manik Lal Shende, a resident of Kandari village under Sitagaon Police Station limits, was returning home from his farm, when three Maoists arrived and shot at him. However, Shende after being injured reached Kohka Police Station eight kilometres away escaping from the Maoists. The unidentified Maoists fled after committing the crime. While confirming the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Puplesh Patre of Manpur Naxal Operation said that the incident is of village Kandari under Sitagaon Police Station area. The Maoists had arrived to execute the 29-year-old youth Manik Lal Shende around 8 o'clock in the night, however, he dodged the armed Maoists and fled towards the forest to reach the Police Station. Manik Lal is a secret soldier of State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) and was dismissed from service a few years back. The Police believe that that is why the Maoists attacked him.
