An ambulance driver, identified as Jairam Usendi (35), was killed by Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres on suspicion of being a ‘Police informer’ in Tekanar village in Narayanpur District of Chhattisgarh on January 30, reports The Pioneer. The incident took place when Usendi went to a local market in the village along with his brother. A group of armed Maoists surrounded them and attacked Usendi with sticks and sharp-edged weapons. Usendi died on the spot, while his brother managed to escape into a nearby forest. The rebels accused Usendi of acting as a ‘Police informer’ before killing him.
