The cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) killed one of their former arms suppliers, identified as Chamra Madavi, and strangled him to death in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra on December 3, reports The Times of India. Maoists branded Madavi as a ‘covert police agent’ who actively helped the Security Forces (SFs) between 2013 and 2019. A two-page note handwritten in Hindi and left behind by the Maoists’ Gadchiroli division committee accused Madavi of becoming an ‘enemy’ of his sister, who is actively involved with the rebels. Madavi was a sympathiser of the banned outfit and was arrested in Balaghat, in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh, last year for trying to supply ammunition to Maoists, Superintendent of Police (SP) Neelotpal said, adding that Madavi’s younger sister and brother-in-law hold key positions in the rebel outfit in the Dandakaranya region.
